Live Match Preview – Huddersfield v Tottenham

Saturday’s live lunch time kick off sees Huddersfield take on Tottenham. With this being Huddersfield’s first season in the Premier League, there’s no past head to head information to go on.

Huddersfield are undefeated in their previous 3 home games this season, with 1 win and 2 draws to their name. They have scored only 2 goals in the 3 games and conceded just the 1.

Spurs meanwhile have won all 3 of their previous away games and seem to be enjoying playing their games away from the home of English football. They’ve scored 8 goals in the 3 games and have conceded just 2.

My gut feeling is Huddersfield will be hard pressed to get anything from this match, Harry Kane was on fire in their mid-week Champions League win against APOEL. For my fun bet on Spurs v Swansea a couple of weeks ago I went for there being 2 or 3 goals in the match. On that occasion, it ended as a 0-0 draw, but I’ll stick with the bet again and take the evens offered by bet365.

Live Match Preview – West Ham v Tottenham

In the lunch time kick-off on Saturday West Ham take on Tottenham at the London Stadium. So far, this season West Ham have a 100% home record (although they’ve only played 1 previous match at home) and Spurs have a 100% away record, having won their previous 2 games away from home. Only Manchester City currently boast a better away record.

Over the past 5 seasons, since West Ham regained their position in the top flight of English football, they’ve beaten Spurs 3 times and have lost twice, with last year’s renewal seeing West Ham win it by 1 goal to 0.

In West Ham’s opening home game, they beat newly promoted Huddersfield, who had been unbeaten up to that point. It was West Ham’s first points of the season and there looks to be a large disparity between their home and away form, so I expect them to do better in this match than their current league position of 17th suggests.

Having said that Spurs away form is much better than their home form, which makes this a difficult one to call. I’m therefore going to err on the side of caution and for my fun bet on the game I’m going for both teams to score at 3/4 with bet365.

Live Match Preview – Tottenham v Swansea

Saturday’s evening football sees Tottenham take on Swansea at Wembley live on BT Sport. Spurs won their first home game of the season on Wednesday night when they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 putting an end to their run of games without a win at the home of English football. So, can they now kick on and put to bed their Wembley curse.

They have a perfect home record against Swansea, since the Swans were promoted to the Premier League in 2011. They’ve played 6 times and have won all 6 and last season they had their best win of the lot, beating Swansea 5-0.

The move to Wembley has not been kind to them so far this season, with a defeat to Chelsea and a draw against Burnley, with Burnley’s new signing Chris Wood scoring an injury time equalizer, in his League debut for the club, to deny Spurs the victory they craved. Tottenham currently sit 17th in the home form table and will need to improve upon that, if they’re going to mount any sort of challenge this year.

Swansea have taken 4 points from their first 2 away fixtures, with a 0-0 draw against Southampton, on the opening game of the season, being backed up with a 2-0 victory at Crystal Palace in their last trip on the road.

Despite Spurs record at Wembley not being a patch on what it is at White Hart Lane, I can’t see anything other than a victory for them over Swansea. Harry Kane has found his shooting boots, scoring 2 goals in each of his last 2 games and I expect Tottenham to continue their run of victories over Swansea. Having said that, at current odds of 2/9, it’s not a price I’d be looking to get involved at.

In their 4 previous matches this season there have been either 2 or 3 goals scored and I fancy that run to continue.

bet365 are offering odds of 11/10 on there being 2 or 3 goals, in their Number of Goals in Match market, so to give a bit of added interest to watching the game, that’ll be my fun bet.

Something’s Got To Give

Tomorrow see’s Everton take on Tottenham at Godison Park. Everton have won 10 of their last 11 Premier League games at home, while Spurs have won 6 of their last 7 away games in the league. Pretty impressive from both teams, but they can’t both win, so something’s got to give.

Both teams have scored 4 points from their 3 games so far this year, so nothing to split them there. Last year the sides drew 1-1 in the corresponding fixture and it was a similar score in the 2015/16 season. In fact the fixture has produced a draw in 6 of the last 10 years seasons, with Everton winning 3 and Spurs just 1.

bet365 have Tottenham as favourites to win at odds of 11/10, while Everton are much bigger at 14/5, with 5/2 the draw.

It seems hard to separate the 2 teams, so a draw looks to offer the best value.
